Tonight's Board Meeting 5-7-12

 Dear Central Band Students and Parents:

There are many things going on in our District currently involving our band programs.  No decisions have been made regarding staffing, budgets etc.  There are opportunities that have been presented to me that are being considered.  When these are finalized, I will share with you what they are. 

I have prided myself in doing what is best for our Band.  I will always strive to continue to do that.

At tonight’s school board meeting, our “Teachers of the Year” are being recognized.  As a former recipient of the award, I know how special this is.  The focus of the evening should be on these outstanding individuals.  I ask that we all just do that.

Rumor Mill

 

I, Mike Sewell, cancelled the performance at the Obama Presidential Rally for the following reasons:

 

  1. PROM – many students could not attend because the rally would end at around

2:30 pm.  The students would not have been able to meet their prom obligations.

 

  1. SAT TESTING – Many of our upper classmen were taking the SAT on Saturday

Morning and could not make our scheduled time at the rally for 10:30 am.

BAND CAMP DATE HAS BEEN SET FOR JULY 8-13

Per Mr. Sewell, the band camp date for 2012-2013 school year is Sunday July 8 - Friday July 13.
